Penny Jewels

A Disneyland enthusiast friend asked me if I could make some jewelry out of Disneyland pressed pennies as a gift for his mom. These are what I came up with! It was such a fun project, and such a fun way to show off your souvenirs!

Hand painted gold penny mounted on a beautiful piece of Rosewood.
Sealed with cleat coat and suspended from a gold chain.

Hand painted gold Micky and Minnie pennies, small hole drilled and accented with faux pearls.

Hand painted penny, two small holes drilled then suspended from a gold chain with small orange beads.

RAW artist

Some of you may remember that on May 10th, I participated in an artists showcase. I featured my jewelry. The show was a great success, my jewelry seemed well received and I was filled with new ideas and constructive criticism to move forward and improve on my work. Many of these pieces sold at the show but some and many others not at the show are available on my Etsy store.

I like it RAW

May 10th come see me and fellow artists at the Sacramento RAW Artist Showcase! Myself and many others will displaying our best work. I will be showing my jewelry line and debuting some brand new pieces specially created just for this event. Tickets are $10, you can purchase them here. The event is at 8pm at the Miami Beach Club in Citrus Heights, CA.  It would mean a TON to me if you could make it out!

MAVelous

Recently I had a photo shoot with a seriously bad ass photographer named Mavera. We featured my cape and some of my jewelry pieces. I am so in love with her work and how these came out. Go give her some love. She deserves it <3

Soap Stoned

The other day I came into work and my dad (I work with my family) had left some chunks of soapstone on my work bench, he had drilled some holes in it and was thinking I might be able to do something with it. I started playing around with it, seeing what I could do and I ended up LOVING the way they came out! Once I put a mega thick coat of finish/sealant on top, the colors really popped! I'm so stoked on these lil babies. They're kinda delicate and pretty temperamental to work with but I realized that you gotta just let the stone be what it wants to be, so hippie of me, but really, it does what it wants, where it cracks, breaks, sands, carves, all of it, you can't force it. I think I found another a new obsession.
